I asked this same question, excluding gender a while back.

The general consensus is that there is no "proper" way to sleep, but that when you sleep face-down you don't get support from your back or something...I am to young to know anything about back aches fortunately, though.

The commercials only show people sleeping in certain positions like face up, or side-ways in order to better portray their products.

When we fall into sleep,we turn in different positions in that if there was a given position, then ladies would have less sleep trying to be in that given position,so sleep which ever position u think is ok.

the right way to sleep is the position in which a person feels the most comfortable.

Depends on space and the size of any moveable objects sharing the same mattress. Besides, if you're having a really wonderful dream, you're likely to change positions several times until you find that one, really coommmfortable spot. Or spots.

There is no right or wrong way for anyone to sleep, it doesn't matter if it is a lady or a gentleman.

I dunno.. I never actually met a "lady" and I hope my luck continues...

But if I had to guess, I would say a Lady sleeps in her own room down the hall... (and i dont have to hear the snoring... COOL!)

ADDENDUM: there is no way to control how someone sleeps.. thats a fact...
