What you sow you reap. Sowing is planting, and reaping is the harvest. If one plants
seeds for food, he will have nourishment. If he plants weeds, he will starve.
If we plant seeds of love in our life, we will get love in kind. And if we plant
seeds of selfishness and hatred. That is what we will get in return.

Guess you meant to say 'As you sow, shall you reap';)

It's a very ancient quote, it dates back to Sumerians (circa 5000 years ago), and it's also mentioned in the Bible; Morally, it's a way to say that every action of yours causes a reaction, now, depending on how 'good' your action was, you'll get a better or worse reaction;) in short: sow the seeds of love, tolerance, understanding, etc etc.. and you'll reap good fruits; sow the seeds of cruelty, intolerance, violence etc etc, and you'll rep bad fruits;) More generally, it's simply another way to express a physics principle: ' every action causes a reaction, and the reaction depends on the action'...More specifically: the principle is called 'Newton's Third Law' and it goes like this:

'For every action force there is an equal (in size) and opposite (in direction) reaction force. Forces always come in pairs — known as "action-reaction force pairs."

You reap what you sew. It is the basic laws of karma. Whatever you do comes back on you threefold.
Many Pagans believe in the rules of karma and also of balance, therefore anything you put out there is going to come back at ya - what goes around comes around ...

Same as "you reap what you sow." I interpret it as what goes around comes around. You can't expect to get good things if you don't do good things to other people (that's the sowing part).
