hello,
oils are classified based on saturated fatty acids and unsaturated fatty acids. All the vegetable oils have some saturated fatty acids its very high in butter. Unsaturated fatty acids are good for health whereas the saturated FA causing the heart attack bcoz it can't be digestible and deposits in arteries. Then Free Fatty Acids should be below 2% in edible oils. So with this we can't come to a conclusion all the oils have its own merits and demerits. In my view, Rice bran oil and corn oil are very good for health.

I feel Olive / Peanut Oil is the best oil for cooking purpose. If not then you can go for Gemini Sunflower Refined Oil or Safola Oil. At present these two are good & Good to your health as well as your family. Think & choose.

The latest theory of heart specialists is that a mixture of oils is best for health. Not just any one oil.
Each has a different property. Some like mustard makes heart muscles healthy. Others do not let clots form. Fatty clots.
As for olive oil, it is best when takes without heating. Once heated, it loses all its good properties. Medit countries usually take it raw in salads and with bread.
I have spent hours on this too. We take a mix. That is not always mixed together. It means a diff oil in different food. So in a week you have all the oils. And I for one do not believe in the "new" oils in market. I consider it a business ploy. They justify what they want to sell.

depends on what your cooking and at what temp. olive oil is great but brakes down at a lower temp where as safflower oil is better for cooking at a higher temps. then there is every thing that is somewhere in the middle of those two.
