I mean look at the old testament, anyone who wasn't a believer were either ruthlessly killed or taken off to be raped. And if anyone brings up the point that the New Testament is filled with Love and Kindness, doesn't it say in the bible that God never changes his mind?

Wrong...God loved us all before we loved him and he paid the ultimate price while we are still in our sin. God created the world knowing we had a sinful nature and even still he paid the price for us and his love is unconditional he did not die for righteous people but sinners,

God is our spiritual father. He wants you to believe in only Him.

In a family, your parents will give you unconditional love, but of course you must have loyalty, respect and love to give back otherwise what is the point?

Parents only can go so far, if you abuse their trust, stab them in the back, make a spectacle of yourself in public (I could go on but hopefully you get the point) how long do you think the parents will allow you to do that before they will withdraw their backing?

The reason you were given free will was a gift from the creator. When a child is learning to walk and falls down, he cries until mom/dad comes to help.

If a child rides a bike and falls off and hurts themselves, the parent doesn't get rid of the bike because it hurt their child, the child must experience some pain in growing up.

How many people call on God when they are in pain? How many remember to thank Him when things go right?

All pain and torment are part of life, God is here to help you through the worst parts with His comfort, just like a parent!

By the way, many bad things are done in the name of religion, many bad people do things in the name of family--child abuse etc, that doesn't mean that God or family is bad!

By the way, science is man's way of explaining God's miracles!

It’s natural to think of God’s love in terms of unconditional acceptance but those terms come from humanistic psychology which glorifies man rather than God and turns the eyes of those who believe that God is love away from God to the self. The consequences are very apparent today where church doctrine is permeated by humanism and psychology. God’s love is majestic and unfathomable and it can’t be defined in humanistic terms which do not express the love of a just and holy God.

Do you live in the Old Testament?

Have you read Job? And what the Lord said He would do unto them, He did not do. Your arguement shows your lack of understanding. And the motivation behind your question is to place a character assasination on God. You are very bitter, and should ask yourself, if you HAVE UNCONDITIONAL LOVE?
IF YOU DO, IT CERTAINLY DOES NOT APPLY TO GOD DOES IT?

Umm i don't know so much about taken off to be raped... but God loves everyone whether you accept him or not... but God has a special relationship with those that accept them... Psalms says he who dwells in the shelter of the most high shall abide under the shadow of his wings, so basically if you walk with God he protects... do evil against him he corrects you, but God still loves you!!! He just hates the evil we all do!

I think its because some people don't even know what unconditional love means. If the God of the bible truly loved people unconditionally, there would be no Hell and he would never torture people for not worshiping him...heck he wouldn't even demand to be worshiped in the first place! There are so many strings attached to his love I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.

Gods love is unconditional. He loves us all sinners and saints believers and unbelievers.
Of course we can't understand love like that just as we can't understand sacrificing your only son for sinners.
We don't give a damn about people who disagree with us or believe differently.
So its no surprise to see questions like yours but usually the questions are asked to make a point not to seek understanding.

i have said this too!
if Gods love is unconditional why do HAVE to BELIEVE and REPENT. ?
those two conditions exist before anyone can be Born AGAIN, its almost like YOU cant know Gods love until you believe in HIM and repent
