My boyfriend is English and was baptized Catholic. However that was 25 years ago and he hasn't stepped foot in church since. All of his family has been baptized, but they dont attend church and aren't even religious. They also practice premarital sex, date atheists, etc.

So why even bother getting baptized in the first place if they are basically the antithesis of Catholicism?

lol I thought of something interesting. So my boyfriend used to wear a cross, but then told me he "was not religious."

So, I asked him why he wore a cross and he told me "for luck."

With any luck, sometime before his life is over, your boyfriend and his famliy might receive the grace of conversion and repentance.

If so, all the blessings benefits of the church will still be available to them.

It is our job to pray for such people.

He should never have been Baptized a Roman Catholic and it was up to his god parents to see that he observed the tenets of his faith, only those committed to the faith should have been Baptized, It has got much stricter now only those who attend church regularly and support the church and schools can have their children Baptized

It is a widespread reality in these neo-pagan times that the Christian faith be it Catholic or Protestant, has, and is at an all time low, modernism and technology is replacing faith at an alarming rate, one only has to read about falling church attendance and the irreverence given to Christ to see that there are an incredible number of people who are Christian in name only.
The recent scandals in the Catholic church is often quoted by lapsed Catholics to excuse their reluctance to practice their faith, and if they go to church at all it is only for weddings and or funerals, indeed the number of purely mechanical Christians is astronomical today.

Some do fall away from faith because they see through the false pretenses the hypocrites, I have seen people follow satan, and I choose not to go to church because of this.
but it doesnt stop me from being totally disillusioned. I think its because once he walked away he forgot about God.
If you are a believer and he is dead set against repentance, then maybe you should think twice about staying is freind.

PPL think they can fool God & get into Heaven just by getting baptized.
You have tyo have faith with works & you cannot get baptized for another person!
Little babies are innocent,so why baptize them? You have to be old enough to choose to obey God your self,or it means nothing.
