Go for whatever brown you choose but i'd leave it for 2 or 3 days after putting the brown on before putting in highlights. Iv done that before and as i done it too soon the highlighter ontop of the brown made my hair go a fully light blue colour and RUINED the hair that it affected !!! go steady :)

I take your hair is naturally blonde with no colour on it??
if so then there wil be no problem ith the colour sticking!
if you have colour on your hair that has been applied recently then go to a hairdresser! coz you might end up goin patchy!

if you are doin it your self pick a warm brown colour coz an ashy coulor will go green!
as for the highlites, if you want to keep some of the blonde you already have then why not go for LOW LITES!!! ( this is the same as highlites but using a darker shade than your own hair!!!)

I would keep it blonde...I have light blonde hair and went to a salon and I thought i needed a change...So i went darker, a light brown with blonde highlights...Ummm my hair had this green tint to it. Plus when your use to seeing blonde, brown is frightening to look at on your head...I dyed my hair back 4 weeks later, wasted 160 dollars...

why don't you just gradually build up the colour darkness, like other people have said be care-full when adding the highlights as this is the point when it can all go horribly wrong, i mean orange green or even blue streaks not good !! I'd say better off going to a salon at least you don't run the risk of cocking up a good hairdresser will also recommend the right colour for you're complexion.

Stay blonde!!!!!! Blondes are better! Haha. But really, dye your hair the brown, then do the highlights a couple days after. Don't do it all at once, because it will really mess up your hair. Give the dye time to soak in and whatnot. And if you want to keep things simple, just stay blonde :)

You should be fine to do it straight away. If you're doing it at home, do NOT be tempted to go for the cheaper brands. If you go for one that's a little more expensive you get far better results.

Hope this helps!
