I am pretty sure I want to do it, and I'm still young enough that it won't affect too many legal documents and sensitive information. But I want to know if anyone else has done it and what they changed it to!

Many people change their birth names, whether they are Biblical in origin or not, as a result of a spiritual awakening or other events in their lives - it's extremely common among actors, for instance. If your name doesn't suit you, change it.

Yes, I did. And yes, it is better to do it while you are younger, it costs less money and their are fewer papers to file. I never liked my name anyways and after I left Christianity, it really felt odd having a first name that meant follower of Christ and having a biblical middle name. I did get a lot of backlash though, people thought I was nuts for changing my full legal name. But I had my mother's blessing and I haven't regretted it once. Many people do not understand the effect a name can have on a person. If you are carrying a name that doesn't suit you, it can have a very negative effect.

I'm not going to post my name on such a public forum though! Lol. But I didn't change it to a really far out there name. I'd suggest selecting a somewhat normal sounding first name and pick a more adventurous middle one.

I have almost gone that far.

Everone in town calls me Two bears,

The hospital where I volunteer , the land lord, where I work all calls me Two Bears.

I even receive mail address to Two bears.

The only reason why I have not changed my name legally is becuse I don;t want or need the hassle from the government right now. My life is very full at present.

I wouldn't change it! I'm a pagan, and I see a name as a name. It would have no meaning to me, other than the fact that it would be what I was known as in the larger world outside my beliefs.

I know a few people who have and they're pretty happy with it. Lucky for me my mother likes Nature names so I never had to bother with that issue.

Why waste the $100? It's not like having a biblical name will scar you for life.

Unless, of course, you are changing it because you want to become a stripper. Then I suggest "Chastity Chesticles".
