There are more lies here than one can count.

There is no building involved whatsoever.

The El Aqsa Mosque is not 4000 years old. The whole Muslim religion is not even half that old.Jerusalem is not "occupied." What a dastardly thing to claim.

Jerusalem is open to worshippers of all faiths and is the holiest city to the Jewish people. It is the third holiest city to the Muslims, whose religion did not even exist 1440 years ago, let alone 4000 years ago!

The claims here are nothing more than cynical lies, promoted by enemies of Israel.

The work is proceeding near a temporary walkway that replaces a centuries-old stairway which collapsed during storms in 2004. The Israeli authorities have explained that the renovations are needed to safeguard the ancient site and have told all the critics that there will be no structural damage to the ancient site or to the Temple Mount beside it.

Yet those facts will not deter the forces in the Arab world that are trying to diffuse and end the intra-Arab warfare. History has taught that in deteriorating situations like the one in the Palestinian Authority, one can always deflect the criticism and blame the Jew.

Israeli-Arab Sheikh Raad Salah, who heads the radical Islamic Movement, has issued a call for an "Intifada" of Israel's Arabs. The leaders of Jordan, Syria and Iran, as well as Islamic chiefs in Egypt, has all condemned the work. "The world of Islam should show a serious reaction to the Zionist regime's insult to Al-Aksa Mosque," Iranian Islamic ruler Ayatollah Ali Khameini said on Wednesday and has called on Muslim nations to attack Israel in response .

An Israeli Foreign Ministry statement dismissed the criticism as an exploitation of the situation. "The Temple Mount is the holiest site of the Jewish people," Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said in a statement Wednesday. "The State of Israel will never do anything to harm the freedom of worship of members of all religions – in Jerusalem or anywhere in Israel. There are irresponsible elements, who know full well that no harm is being caused here to any holy site, who are exploiting Israeli democracy to fan religious feelings for political gain ."

The world must awaken to the danger that the radical Islamist movements pose, both to Israel and to the entire Western World.

They are playing with fire and this is an occupied land. The Israeli government can bulldoze on the Israeli land but not on the Palestinian land. Its illegal by all means. Like the Israeli fence its built on the Palestinian land. The Israelis do not want peace they are in love with wars.

Davay, you're at it again??????????? Now with lies?????? Again, worry about your own people. Talk about how the Palestinians have killing off Jews, and massacring families, talk about Gush Etzion! Talk about how when Israel gave some land to them - equipped to live and build on, all they could do was loot and tear it up? And now they're sorry?

We know you hate Israel, Davay, but who cares??? Am Yisrael hai! You KNOW that if by chance there IS a 4000 year old building in Jerusalem, it's NOT Arab! Try some truths - notice I give you articles from more than one source, you have nothing to back up your lies.

Got a legit link for this tale?

apart for being a Little antiisraeli, are you sure what are you speaking about? if you are so strong minded and so sure ,why don't you come here, visit this places, take pictures and then you can publicize this? you are very misinformed, Jerusalem is Jerusalem, Jewish, christian,Muslim.it's a Holly place and a touristic attraction, May be we,Israelis, are stupid at your eyes, but not that much idiots to destroy our beloved capital city, and of course not our heritage. so be more objective.and for this you don't have to love not Israel, not Jews,Muslims or Christians, it will be enough if you try to love and respect yourselve.

If the building is 4000 years old, it is a Jewish building. They can do what they want with THEIR buildings. And by the way, Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. There is no "Arab side."

The amazing thing is the way these Arabs underestimate our intelligence and think that we will believe every outrageous lie they concoct.

It's their country.
Who the hell are you to tell them what to do?

You don't know all the facts.
Only what the media wants you to know.
Everyone knows the media are always on the underdogs side.
It sells more newspapers.
