I’m French and as 95% of French I always opposed the war.
Anyway, Watada is wrong:
-He is an officer and has to obey. In France he would risk much more than 4 years behind bars. 20 years ago he would have faced the fire squad, I don’t know for sure now.
-Now that US have invaded Iraq, it is their duty to cope with the insurgency they have generated and leave Iraq only when it will be peaceful. US should never have entered Iraq but they shouldn’t live it before wrong. Leaving Iraq would be cowardice.

Merci beaucoup, Job. I'm one of the Americans who never held France's views against them. While I think Watada has the absolute right to voice his discontent in the war, unfortunately, he promised to serve where he was sent. So, like you, I don't think he has the right to refuse his duty in Iraq. It makes me sick, because I don't think *any* of our troops should have to spend too much more time in Iraq. But it's the cost of joining the military.

Yes Lt. Watada is wrong. But he also has my utmost respect for the bravery he has shown. 9/11 was an inside job and the proof is on the net.Unfortunately it will prove to be a painfull dissuasion for Watada.
