You are making it seem like Mormons "believe" killing children is OK...We don't.
If a child dies under the age of 8, whether by murder, accident, disease, whatever...then yes, they are promised to be exalted in the Celestial Kingdom.
Now, do we condone killing children just to save them - of course not. Family is #1 to us.
Mawkish and Corezink - you are both way off line and have no business spreading things that are untrue.

I am not a Mormon so I don't know about that. What about you? There are some consequences to your proposed actions for your time on earth and in eternity. You would be caught and housed in special custody because of the unwritten law among prisoners to kill inmates that do things to kids. You would be segregated from other prisoners and your social life would suck being only able to socialize with 2 guards at a time. People with neck sizes above 20" are not usually brilliant conversationalists.
Think of eternity. Where would you be when you get there?

I've never heard about the killing of children under 8, but the Mormon belief is you can save someone by killing them. This little moronic thing came from Young himself. Many ex Mormon's of the time ran off and remained in hiding and feared for their life. Because of the fact in the Mormon thinking, if one of the Latter Day Saints declares something like this, it must be so. The Mormon church is considered a cult and can be a very dangerous one. During Brigham Young's reign, they even attacked wagon trains dressed as Indians and killed the infidels for their goods. This was alright because the people they killed were Gentiles.

My opinion,
I don't think you will save anything, and your life as well. If you Give care and protection to a children, and if you raise a Children until they can stand up on their own, I believe that is saving the children.
I suggest not to do that, unless you want to have real trouble.
1. The parents will be very angry.
2. The cops will chase you, accused for murder.
3. You will have "sins" of murder (according to Christian Believe).

Yep. Go and 'evangelise' the efficient way. I mean, killing them below age eight isn't much different to infecting their minds with the lies of the cult at a later age, is it? The person will still end up dead (even if it is just brain-dead). I think if I knew I would grow up to believe in Mormonism, I would DEFINATELY prefer to be killed as a child. The way the Mormons treat children and women is attrocious!

You're not saving them, but they are saved in the Lord. Further, I'm not sure you would want to do this at the expense of my own salvation.
