Only need one reason it had no choice it was a Britsh colony not a sovereign Nation. When Britain declared war it did so for the entire empire. First the US wasnt even in the war when the Australians joined in. Second he said WWi not WWII?

Australia wanted to support the UK and US,
It supports democracy, and
It is against Nazism.
