Sorry if this has an obvoius answer to some people but just want to make sure. My sister is getting married next year in the Phillipines. What happens with her passport - she goes out there with her maiden name and of course returns with her married name. Is it ok just to show the marriage certifcate with her passport upon return to the uk?
Many thanks for any advice anyone has :-)

If she's booked a return flight she can travel both ways in her maiden name and change details when she gets home. Who's to know she's got married whilst there? The visa/passport/airport won't know.

I think a trip to the British passport centre, or a quick phone call would be advisable in your sisters case. They should allay her fears o.k. Have a good day!

As long her flight back is booked in her maiden name . If the two don't match she will have a job getting on the plane.

This is a big problem. The only way round it, is to marry someone with the same surname as herself. That way her details will remain the same.
