I have a small pain that comes and goes. I barely notice it but the pain is there. I have been told kidney stones, appendicitis. But usually those hurt a lot and all I feel is a slight pain that comes and goes. I am afraid it may be my kidney but I am only 26 years old.

I don't have insurance currently as I recently quit my job to go back to school. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The 3 most common things for pain in that area are muscle strain, wind (gas in your bowel), appendicitis. Appendicitis is the main one to be concerned about. Many people get little infections in their appendix that come and go before they have a major episode and have to have it taken out which could account for it. Best to get it checked out. If it is appendicitis and it isnt a serious case then you'll just be put on antibiotics and painkillers. It's probably one of those but it may be something else. I doubt it is kidney stones, the pain tends to be in a different area - usually the back radiating around the front or on the side. Still get it checked out to be sure - better safe than sorry even if it does cost...

It could still be appendicitis. When I was 9, I had an acute attack of pain in the same area you describe which subsided after I was admitted to the hospital for tests. The tests they ran were not definitive, and since the pain disappeared, they decided to do nothing but watch the situation. So I was discharged from the hospital. Several years later, when I was 13, I began having vague gnawing pains which seemed to be dispersed non-specifically throughout my entire abdominal area. The doctor couldn't figure out what was wrong. He put me on a diet for ulcers, and tried just about every trick in the book. Nothing seemed to work. Finally, in desperation, he decided to re-hospitalize me, and scheduled upper and lower GI's, a barium enema, and all sorts of other unpleasant tests. Again the tests revealed nothing, and the doctor had just about decided that I was a hypochondriac. One thing happened though which saved me from hypochondriacal Hades. Several days after I was released from the hospital my mother said I turned white as a sheet, and she demanded that the doctor re-admit me for further evaluation. This time the doctor decided the only option left was exploratory surgery. When they opened me up, they discovered something quite surprising. My appendix had twisted around some nerves in the abdominal cavity and that undoubtedly was the cause of the non-specific discomfort. They surmised that the attack I had experienced years before was the moment when the anomaly occurred and that the acute pain had dissipated over several days, only to resurface several years later in a new incarnation. To make a long story short, my appendix was removed along with the offending nerves and I have had no further problems in that regard for the last 40 years. My advice is to try and find a free clinic. Some major metropolitan hospitals have them. You could simply call some of them and inquire. Also, if you had a doctor before you quit your job, call and ask him/her where you might be able to go for free or nearly free treatment.

Good luck! I hope that your problem turns out to be nothing serious.

Not diagnosing...but if you lift heavy items you could have an inguinal hernia. It is a hernia in the groin area where your leg and abdomen meet , close to the inner thigh. It could explain the pain being intermittent since a hernia is a small tear in the outer lining of your abdominal cavity...this would allow a small bit of intestine to slide in and out of the tear at times, causing you pain. When the pain is present look for and feel for a small area there that may look swollen and this will help you to decide if it is a hernia. If it is a hernia you can get a hernia truss at the drugstore to wear...especially when lifting heavy objects ...this will help some unitl you can get insurance and get it repaired surgically. Good luck !

Right lower quadrant is appendix site. If you have constipation/gas trouble, fullness in stomach, whitish sticky tongue, most likely it is appendicitis in first stage. Constipation is the main cause.
Green vegitables and salads is the best treatment for constipation. Eat only when you feel hunger. Citrus fruits, grapes will do good.
If you feel pain after constipation is rooted out then it is kidney stone. Take treatment of strong magnet, keep South pole on kidney site, stone will disappear.

Learn more about the cause if it is muscles, pain or referred pain. Read - The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches how you can get the muscles to loosen up.
For now see a massage therapist.
If it is related to the kidneys (and it wont hurt you if it is not) hit the health food store for turmeric or grapefruit seed (oil or pills).

I had the same symptoms and you should see a doctor and probably get checked out for a bad gall bladder. My pain came and went like yours and I thought it was gas pains because they would go away. One night I got the pain and it did not go away and only got unbearable. I went to the ER and was admitted. They did an ultrasound and found many stones in my gall bladder and had to operate to remove it. The doctor said if I hadn't sought medical help, I could have died from a burst gall bladder since it would have infected my internal organs.

take it as your body warning , do something before it gets any worse

avoid dairy food, pig meat, animals, pets, sodas, processed food, pasta, canola, yeast bread, beer and any chemical product (deoderant, shampoo, after shave, chlorinated water)

use herbal shampoo, detergent etc

olive leaf extract will kill pig / animal parasites and the yeast fungus / infection

if its appendix take 1- 2 litres of fenugreek tea with orange juice for a couple of days

if it is kidney stones then eat ginger, cranberries and walnuts every day

it should go in 1-2 days

If you had a pain around your bellybutton first, and now have it around your lower right quadrant it may be appendicitis
