I'm trying to get some cheap tickets from Boston to Alexandria, LA, or another airport close to that if the price is right! I've checked expedia and the like, and also checked Southwest, Jet Blue, and Air Tran. Does anyone know any more sites or airlines I could try? Thanks!

no discount airlines fly to Alexandria, LA that I'm aware of. They have regional service with Northwest, American, Continental, and Delta...but discount airlines like Southwest, Jet Blue, and Frontier do not fly there. The closest big city that would have these services would be New Orleans.
Based on some of the responses below it is apparent that some people do not know that the asker was referring to Alexandria, LOUISIANA, not Alexandria, VIRGINIA.

The three major low-fare airlines are JetBlue, Southwest and AirTran. Also Spirit Airlines and American Trans Air (which is different than AirTran). I'm not sure how many of these airlines fly to Louisiana. Also, I fly a LOT for work (close to 100 times a year) and I almost never find the cheapest flights on the low-fare carriers. Or, if I do, it's not worth it (like Southwest Airlines sometimes is $20 cheaper but I'd have to fly out of Providence or Manchester, and it would cost me more than that to get to one of those airports).
Usually what I do is I check expedia.com or orbitz.com or one of those websites to see which airline has the cheapest flights, and then I go to that airline's website, and 99% of the time I get the exact same fare. Plus, most of those websites charge a "booking fee" of $5 or more so it's actually cheaper with the airline. And some airlines guarantee that you'll find the cheapest flights through their website (I know American Airlines does and probably others do too).

Air Tran has fares for $49.40 one way Boston to Baltimore and BWI is only 33 miles from Alexandria
