From what I know, after your second year of your commitment in the Navy, you can partake in a Tuition Assistance program where you can attend local college courses or online courses and receive up to 12 credits a year (if you pass the course), and the money for that is NOT taken out of your GI Bill.

I was wondering if the Army had a similar program set up for its soldiers?

All military branches are the same. I went to college using both Tuition Assistance & the GI Bill. Because of that, I was able to be a fulltime student and only work part-time. It's one of the best benefits you'll receive through the military.

All branches offer TA, but how much TA depends on the branch. The Navy only gives you 12 Credits a fiscal year, if you want more than that you have to put in a waiver or use your GI bill.

The Airforce doesn't have a limit on how much TA your use per fiscal year.

No Branch does. MyCAA is not affiliated with any Branch. HOWEVER it has been temporarily halted.. and I am not sure when it will begin again nor if any changes will be made to the system. Currently that is $3000/year for 2 years max. otherwise you are on your own to fund schooling via grants and scholarships from other sources.

The army currently pays 100% tuition. I will finish my degree and not pay any out of pocket expenses.

Or you can just pay for your education out of pocket like I did.
