They do out of jail, just always wondered if they did in jail. Its not exactly special treatment for say. It just making them equal to non-disabled people I think would be better said.

I work in several jails and prisons in Texas. Most jails have a wheelchair accessible cell, which are larger cells with handle bars by the toilet and benches in the showers. Most prisons have segregated wings in the prisons for wheelchair bound inmate. The metal on the chairs can be files down and used as weapons. If the inmate has certain medical disabilities, they are are sent to hospital like prison units. If an inmate has a mental handicap, they are separated from the general population in a jail and prisons have special units to housed these type of inmates.

I work in a Federal Prison. There are handicap accessible cells, but other than that, they are still inmates. No special treatment. They have to go through the same exact procedures as everyone else.

Not in regular city/county jail. Jail is jail and the powers that be do not give two hoots in hell what happens as long as know one is killed. However, prison is a different story.

ADA calls for that any authorities facility accommodate disabiliites. Being disabled would not negate someone's rights, even in detention middle. Do you imagine in hardship-free words "generic" people do issues to get thrown in detention middle?

yes they get the same poor treatment. correctional officers lose touch with being humane . if you are locked up you are trash to them. the difference between inmates and officers is the inmates got caught. you might find one desent officers, but most likely they are new and time will turn them currupt.I just pray inmates dont get sick in prison ,you wont get much medical treatment...

Didn't you ever listen to her???????I know she told you the difference between right and wrong you were just to stupid to listen. Or to weak to make the right decision.
