No. Short hair grows at exactly the same rate as long hair. It just looks faster because you will notice the change more if the hair is short.

If you hair grows an inch a month, and it is one inch long, then next month it will 2 inches long, which is double the length.

If it is 12 inches long, then next month it will be 13 inches long, which is only slightly longer. But the growth rate is the same.

Split ends don't affect the speed at which your hair grows, because it doesn't grow at the end, it grows at the root. Hair is dead, so it can't be "healthy", despite what they say in the shampoo ads.

No... short hair grows at the same speed as long hair, its just that longer hair breaks easier cause its older and more damaged than the newer shorter hair.

no it does not! average hair growth is 1/4 -1/2 inch per month

From my knowledge of human physiology...Not necessarily. Your hair (which is a derivative of your skin or epidermis) grows at a constant rate. It does not matter whether you are short haired or long haired. Factors which may affect the rate of growth are your genetics(family) , your diet, and your health status. Hope this helps. Dr. Friday

hair grows at a rate of six inches a year or one half inch per month. short hair only appears to grow quicker because the change is more noticible whenit is short.

healthy hair grows swifter, lengthy hair is often extra damaged with extra split ends and such which makes it advance slower, with assistance from reducing it alot it continues to be healthy hence transforming into swifter.
