i have 4 piercings, if i do basic training do they tell me to take it off or can i still wear them.

David ... If you didn't know the answer to that question ... the answer is "No," by the way ... then I strongly suspect there are many OTHER things about serving in the military that you've misunderstood.
If you've got a whole lot of other similar issues you'd like to discuss, you can bring your questions to Yahoo Answers ... OR you can just visit/call your local Armed Forces Recruiting Station and see what they say.

You will almost certainly have to remove them. The idea of basic training is to stop thinking of yourself as an individual and instead as part of a team. They will encourage UNIFORMITY in everything, and the piercings will disrupt that.

All of these idiots above have no clue what they are talking about.
YES you can have ear rings in the AF... if your a female ONLY. If you are, then they must be conservative and spherical shaped and can not detract from the uniform.
If you are Male ............ NO
Additionally. There are certain jobs where females can not wear ear rings. Notable, on the flight line or while working on-board acft.

Through basic training you will be asked to remove them. However, once you graduate you will be allowed to wear earrings, even in uniform as long as they are not too flashy. (What constitutes "Flashy" is at the discretion of your commanders.)

If you're female, you may have one regulation size/style earing in each ear while in uniform. Out of uniform, go for it.
If you're male, well, let's just say they better not be able to be seen in uniform if you've got 'em!
