Look at Maggie Sottero. They are an American company but they sell in the UK and they have a great collection called 'Destinations' made especially for overseas weddings.
If you go with a light material like Chiffon, When you get to your hotel, Hang your dress up in the Bathroom and turn on the shower (Don't get your dress wet!) This way all the creases will fall out of it after its long journey.
Happy Hunting.

Well, you could go slightly less traditional and do a knee-length wedding gown. This is becoming much more popular for destination weddings. You could also try just a simple sheath gown. I wouldn't go for something that's got a train or a huge A-line skirt. Maybe an umpire waist? Something long and flowy. I might go sans-veil, too. The less formal sheaths are gorgeous on the beach, you could even incorporate shells into your hair, or tropical flowers. But whatever you choose, let it feel like what you've always dreamed of. I'd go for a plain, floorlength, white dress that just hangs nicely, that you won't need a big slip for. The lingerie that belongs with most gowns wouldn't even close to fit in a suitcase. If the idea isn't too repulsive, you could also try finding a prom dress or something. Some of them look a lot like wedding gowns and can save you a small fortune! If you do a slightly less detailed dress that makes the most of your figure, you cna make your hair the eye-catching part. Whatever you do though, best of wishes on your marriage!

Hi I got married abroad too and travelled with Virgin Atlantic, it is unfair you can't take your dress as hand luggage, I had the same problem. My dress was a 2 piece, corset and organza skirt, I would recommend the organza as its light weight and doesn't crease as bad as silk will. The corset however was a bad choice for me due to the intense heat I was struggling to breathe after an hour so thats something to consider! Of course you want to look like a princess it's the best day of your life after all. Have a look at some websites Alfred Angelo is a good one for ideas I'm sure they have a section dedicated to overseas weddings and good luck, I hope you find the dress of your dreams

Of course I’m going to wear a wedding dress,” you might be thinking, as you should. Before you run out and buy a destination wedding dress however, you’ll want to think about how it will get to its intended destination. Will you be sending it ahead of time? If so, you’ll have to find a box big enough for it to fit without it getting crushed. You’ll also have to have your final alterations early so as to leave enough time for your package to arrive. Keep in mind, there’s always a chance the dress can be lost in transit.
You can carry the dress with you as you fly, but it will be hard to fit a big, poufy wedding dress in the overhead compartment. It’s best not to check your wedding dress with the rest of the luggage because luggage sometimes has a way of parting company with its owner and you can’t afford for this to happen. Your best bet is to make arrangements with the airline ahead of time to hang your dress in the flight attendants cabin.

Hi - try Monsoon, they have some beautiful dresses in, but looking at them theyll fit in your suitcase too so you wont need to worry about that side. The other place I love (but cant afford, so just touch the clothes!) is Coast, again beautiful dresses that should pack up small enough to transport in luggage. Enjoy choosing! Bex x

I would get something a little short, like near your ankles, so it does not drag on the sand.
Most dresses are stored away when the wedding is over, you might try a package when you fly. You also might think of having it mailed, like UPS or FED_EX,
Most if not all wedding makers can be bought online and shipped to you.

I live in the United States and I bought my wedding dress online. The website was: www.weddingonlinestore.com. I looked beatiful in my dress and it was very sexy and it was alot cheaper than David's Bridal for sure!! You can put it in your suitcase, because if you get a dress that goes straight down, it will fit!!

Alfred angelo has a destiny line that is made for destination weddings, though you can get any of their dresses for a destination wedding, it just depends on what you want. I got my dress from them (it's not in the destiny line though) and I'm having a destination wedding. They have stores in the UK.

i think your best bet is to look on ebay. i found my dress on there, it was a $1000 and i got it for $132. i would get something that will loose the wrinkles once you hang it out
like chiffon or organiza, just as long as you dont fold it tight you should be find. id also check and see if your hotel has a on-sight drycleaner, u know to steam it.

i imagine that is extremely enormously. only because that is marketed as a prom/pagent gown does no longer recommend that is the in common words time that is worn. I wore a lengthy white gown of the rack and so did 2 of my sisters. We saved countless funds what develop into extra perfect spent on different issues.
