Disclaimer: I have never studied Krav Maga.
However, I think the answer to your questions comes down to goals-
Krav Maga would likely be more useful in a fighting situation (given equal time spent training), and may thus give you the confidence you mention.
Capoeira is definitely more showy, would help build all types of strength, and is cool at parties/festivals. Additionally, I love the mental side of capoeira- it is a game, and equal (or greater) advantage can be gained from trickery and deceit as well as technical skill or strength- and such is life.
Also, the strength/poise/balance that capoeira builds may give you the confidence you seek.
Also, how often do you plan to get in a fight? I am 27, and I have not gotten into a fight since high school. Unless your loved ones are in danger, why fight? Given that this is my mindset, I choose capoeira as the choice that gives me more value. Your mindset may differ...
And finally, if you are set on training in an art that would help you in a fight, I suggest BJJ, Muay Thai, or Boxing instead of Krav Maga.

Take it from an active and licensed bodyguard, former police officer, and international security contractor who has taken several different martial arts, and have learned other defensive tactics in the police academy - for self-defense, you can't beat Krav Maga! It is easy to learn and works in the real world. I have used it to save my *** several times. Don't be fooled by people who answer your question that base their answers on what they've seen on TV. Also, when you're looking for a Krav Maga school, try to find a Krav Maga Worldwide school.

What are your goals? Are you training for practical self defense? Are you training for the art? Fitness?
Capoeira is a beautiful art, but it is attribute based and is not realistic self defense. It's also great fitness. If you're interested in art, athletically-inclined, and looking to improve your fitness, this is a good choice.
If Capoeira is "like" dancing, Krav Maga is definitely slam dancing. There's nothing aesthically pleasing about it. It's developed to be learned quickly and will work for most body types, ages, etc. So, if your goal is fitness (anaerobic and functional strength), this is the way to go.

hmm...i've actually taken both. i think capoeira is more fun but krav is more practical in a street fight. but dont just total dismiss capoeira as self defense becuz if used properly you can defend yourself if you water it down and not use all the fancy kicks and flips etc.. because you get great speed strength agility balance reflexes etc...but like i said the practicality in krav maga is better. however i have found out its not too hard to become a qualified instructor in krav so make sure you check out the teacher and they are good(this happened where i trained)

Im taking both:
Krav Maga for Self Defence. - Finesse
&
Capoeira to learn tricks and stunts. - Strength
but im takin krav maga first because its very easy to learn self defence in 6 month to a year. You prolly would not be able to defend your self with 6 months to a years worth of Capoeira.

Krav Maga definitely. Because you can't always count on someone to be there with a boombox if you get in a street fight.

Krav is a great combat system, and much more street worthy. It is not designed for large areas or high kicks, just close quarter fighting (weapons too)

Krav, definitely. New years 99 like 10 of us beat the living "s" outta like 15 Capoiera guys using "drunken street fighting" style. They kept break dancing and doing handstands. Easier to kick a guy in the head when he goes to foot level on his own. If you're looking to be a dancing homo with no fighting ability, go Cap. If you want to fight like the Israeli special forces, go Krav

It depends.... if you want the things you talked about and CAN get them from those arts, then stick with it!
Personally, and only as my opinion, both styles are crap.
