Discuss Trinity: it's not quite like mind, body & spirit = one person, God, but it is a simple visualization that most humans can relate to.

Relevance to the salvation of the world: God used the part of Himself we call Jesus Christ ("the Son") to provide salvation. Jesus had to leave this world and sent God's Holy Spirit to be with us. With the use of the gifts of and the fruit of the Holy Spirit we can reach people for Christ. God the Father and the Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirt are One and can, if we give Them/Him the opportunity, give us advice and guidence (He sees the big picture, has a better point of View) and love and so much much more.

Jesus could not provide atonement for the sins of the world without being the one mediator between God and men. That's what it says in Hebrews. To be a mediator requires two other parties. One party is humanity, the other is the Father. So salvation requires both the Father and the Son. Neither could Jesus provide atonement for the sins of the world without the operation of the Holy Spirit, for it was the Holy Spirit who operated on the virgin Mary to cause the Word of God to become the baby of Bethlehem. The Holy Spirit filled Jesus with wisdom and power and, along with the Father, resurrected the crucified Christ. Jesus returned to heaven but then sent the Holy Spirit to indwell believers by convicting them of their sin. Without the convicting power of the Holy Spirit, nobody can be saved. It is the Holy Spirit's role to lift Christ up so that people will look to Christ for salvation. So salvation requires the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit who all work together in perfect harmony to accomplish this incredible grace. That requires a harmonious, triune God-head. That is why believers are baptised in the name (singular) of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

You don't have to believe the three are one to be saved, I believe. But all three are very real and distinct.

From the Father we get Grace
From the Son we get Atonement
From the Holy Spirit we find Righteousness.

We cannot have just one or the other, all three are essential. You need to cleanse yourself from sin (which Christ does) but now cleaned you need to build up righteousness (which the Holy Spirit does) but it is all nothing if there is not a Higher Power letting all this be possible.

It has no relevance because the trinity is not a Bible teaching. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that the Father, Son, and the holy spirit are equal in power, substance, and eternity, AND that they all combine to make God. The trinity is based on the man-made Athanasian Creed. To be approved by God, we must worship him with spirit and truth. The trinity is not the truth. (John 4:24)

The Athansian creed says the trinity: "This is the Catholic Faith, which except a man believe faithfully and firmly, he cannot be saved." http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/02033b.htm

But that is really unnecessary since the Bible never taught about the trinity. It always speaks of God as the Almighty, Jesus as his son, a Mighty God and the holy spirit not being a person. Not three are equal...and that Jesus was the first created being by God. (Colossians 1:15, Philippians 2)

Our redemption was a combined work of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, centered on Jesus Christ, and a splendid example of God's total self giving for our salvation.

The trinity is irrelevant.

‘Christ according to the faith, is the second person in the Trinity, the Father being the first and the holy Ghost the third. Each of these three persons is God. Christ is his own father and his own son. The Holy Ghost is neither father nor son, but both. The son was begotten by the father, but existed before he was begotten--just the same before as after. Christ is just as old as his father, and the father is just as young as his son. The Holy Ghost proceeded form the Father and Son, but was an equal to the Father and Son before he proceeded, that is to say before he existed, but he is of the same age as the other two. Nothing ever was, nothing ever can be more perfectly idiotic and absurd than the dogma of the Trinity.’

God the Son and the Presence of God Love is the salvation and God is love .....it is like when you were born your parents protected you with rules and then they advised you and let you choose and then when you were on your own they hoped you would let their guidance serve you in their wisdom and help you reach your potential as a member of the family ( God's Kingdom) They do it out of love not obligation because you are a part of the family unless of course you choose to ignore the family than you are a part of another. So to let you see the relevance to the trinity it is Love and their love for you to be apart of their kingdom

The world isn't going to be saved. God saves his people, one at a time, by the blood of the Lamb of God, and the Holy Spirit comes and lives in them after they are born again of him.

The Holy Trinity is clearly spoken about as the key to salvation in the Bible, therefore, it has huge relavance to the salvation of this world, and this world sure does need it badly.
