For those of us that have learned NOT to jump the gun, how long should one wait to ask for a date?
In my case, I've known this girl for ...6 months? Kosher (high chances) to ask "go out for a movie?"

You have known her for six months. It is certainly a good time to ask her on a date. After a while it can become too long. Go for it and good luck!
