Some says, Thai Food and Some says, Cambodian food.
Either Thai or Cambodian, the dish ingredient are the same but
for one exception, Cambodian prepare with mild hot all the way and Thai prepare with hotter. Today, Thai food is more wellknown than Cambodian because Cambodian don't care who's who prepared the food.

I believe Siam or Thai is the decendant from the Khmer people, now known as Cambodian. According to both history, Thai and Cambodian ARE ONE BLOOD! They share the EXACT tradition.

Originally, Khmer or Cambodian food was exist first. Thai did not exist during the Khmer Empire! Not only that, Thai language was established only between the 1700's or 1800's.

From the both history, I believe Thai confused with their identity back in the day. To claim their identity, Thai label everything they can to separate them from the Khmer people. As for Khmer or Cambodian, they don't have to do that since they know who they are. Nowaday, Thai seems to claim everything that were Khmer's. They had the right too because they were once, KHMER!

i like both type of foods but i prefer both homemade. resturants tend to overdo on the ingredients. it's all the same only difference is if you like it spicey or mild. you probaly haven't heard about cambodian foods because its a blend of thai and vietnamese.

go to 2 different thai restaurants and 2 different cambodian restaurants and see which type u like better.
go to 2 different ones becaue one may not prepare it correctly and if the other one does or doesnt then u will know if u like it or not.
personally, i like thai food more because its tastier. it consists mostly of fish sauce, basil, peanuts, tamarind, curries, and noodles.
Cambodian on the other hand has more variety of different plates.
GO EXPLORE!! Enjoy different cultures!
bon appetite
