And if you answer no, it's not possible that I'm wrong, isn't that committing the sin of blasphemy by elevating yourself to the same level as your God on that issue, the quality of being perfect? Aren't you blaspheming him in that instance, since no human can claim they're perfect on an issue that is inherently unknowable?

What did I accomplish by asking this question? My intent was to illustrate the arrogance of many Christians. Most Christians will steadfastly maintain that it's impossible that they're wrong about the question, in spite of the fact that there's no way of proving it either way and that we're all human and susceptible to error in everything.

At least nonbelievers are HONEST with themselves. I admit that it's possible that I'm wrong about the nonexistence of the Christian God, but I'm not willing to be intellectually dishonest with myself and believe just out of some fear-based Pascal's Wager. If God exists and is truly everything you Christians say he is, then he'd see right through that anyway.

It just goes to show that alot of Christians have a serious ego complex.

P.S. Voices in your head telling you "you're right" don't equate to unassailable proof. Son of Sam had voices in his head telling him God meant for him to kill demons, but he was just crazy I guess.

Sniper, I've proven that a lot of Christians are intellectually dishonest. To refuse to acknowledge the possibility that one may be wrong on this issue, and to rely upon mere subjective, empirically nonreproducible thoughts as unimpeachable "proof", is the height of intellectual dishonesty and arrogance.

But in a sense you're right. I already knew that about many Christians.

You are correct. I'm not a Christian but I do believe in God. I never ever say I know I'm right. I just happen to believe in a certain idea. I could very well be wrong but, like anyone who has strong beliefs, I'm willing to take that risk.

I think anyone who claims they know it all is in for a rude awakening. We're all just humans. None of us have all the answers. To assume you do isn't blasphemy, it's just narrow minded & sad. There's way too many ideas in this world to close yourself off to all of them. We're all capable of being wrong and we all have been wrong a time or two.

Okay then it's possible that we're both wrong. Now where are we at. Right back at square one. So, what did you accomplish by asking this question,,,,nothing. For you to suggest that I could equate myself with God would clearly suggest your admitting the possibility of God existing so now you place yourself in the loosing section. Quit trying to back people into corners with your loaded questions. Just admit,,,you don't have the answers either.

Do you elevate yourself above your mother or father when you know they are the reason for you being here? Are you saying you are perfect if you know who your parents are? Would you be blaspheming someone if they said No those are not for sure your parents?Just because you know something for certain does not make you perfect it just gives you knowledge to make decisions. Come on think ,just put alittle effort in to thought

Christ was crucified for blasphemy...Study scripture preceding this by thousands of years and see that is was the plan of God before the foundation of the world. Is saying no to you blasphemy or is having faith in God blasphemy? of course not those who love the truth will seek him and those who seek will receive a gift of faith and through faith comes revelation of God and knowing God is knowing the truth...While this may be difficult for you to understand imagine explaining sight to a blind man...To gain spiritual sight one must love the truth and seek it with all of his heart it is the only way to revelation and the only way to a personal relationship with God...Until a man receives revelation it does not make sense ot the flesh it is only revealed through the spirit. The truth is available to everyone.

I, alone, may be wrong, but with millions of Christians believing God DOES exist? Impossible.

Your question's contradictory. You're saying we're commiting the sin of blasphemy by elevating ourselves to God's level, but you say there's no God?

We're not perfect, not even close, but we do know one thing: there is a God, and he loves us.

1 Cor 2:10-14 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of man except the spirit of a man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except by the Spirit of God. Now we received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Look closely at the scriptures above. All Christians know God by the revelation of the Holy Spirit. All Christians know God in their spirits and not in their minds. All Christians can experience the presence of the Holy Spirit in them. When they pray in the Spirit, the Holy Spirit prays through them. When Christians exercise their spiritual gifts the Holy Spirit does the miracles through them. Hebrews 11:6 states that he who comes to God must believe (be absolutely sure) that He exists and He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. God is the Father of all Christians who are His sons. There is nothing wrong for sons to be like their Father and God wants them to be like Jesus Christ, their elder Brother. Christians are called to be perfect as Godis perfect. All Christians are perfect in Christ who is perfect.

lol..that is the problem with philosophy, those who indulge in this circular activity of hypothetical queries about life, well, its a definite form of madness. its called FAITH, and if you are deemed worthy to receive something from GOD, then you will receive that which would verify his existence. Alot of people out here have proof, but if you want the proof, toss away this useless line of questioning. It amounts to nothing quick. We are to strive for perfection thru prayer and thru the holy spirit, and if we fail, we have the opportunity to repent. We are not wrong to believe in something that is good for you. Whether its real or not, to believe in God and his word is far more profitable than to believe in yourself or what another man says.

God told me that He exists. He is perfect. He therefore knows that this is so perfectly and is able to communicate the idea to me perfectly.

I don't see how any of this supposedly elevates me to God's level. To be frank, I don't think you do, either. And contrary to what you've asserted, if I doubted what God has told me, then THAT would be blasphemy, not believing it.

No, it is not possible that we are wrong about the exisistance of God. May I review your knowledge on the term "Faith":

1. belief or trust: belief in, devotion to, or trust in somebody or something, especially without logical proof
2. religion religion or religious group: a system of religious belief, or the group of people who adhere to it
3. religion trust in God: belief in and devotion to God
Her faith is unwavering.

4. set of beliefs: a strongly held set of beliefs or principles
people of different political faiths

5. loyalty: allegiance or loyalty to somebody or something

This is why it is not possible to be wrong about God.
And no, it's not elevating to the same level, it's simply the understanding in God, the only higher power in existance.
