What are the Benefits of knowing German?

You can yell back at your neighbours when they yell at you for still being in the laundry room 34 seconds after your scheduled time is up. (Assuming you live in Zurich.)

Work wise? Not so much unless you want to work for German company. I speak German (3rd language) and when I got corporate job in Germany, I received credit for speaking English (my 2nd language).

Personaly I don't think German is important since there is only one country speaking it! (as far as i know)!! If you want to learn a second language I think that language must be Chinese. Why? Because China is the largest exporter of everything and knowing chinese might be a good thing to put in your CV.
