It happened yesterday to my wife, who I had never seen crying before for physical pain, not even for kidney stones or when she broke her ankle.
For this reason I first though that she was jocking and I made fun of her, saying that crying is not needed for such a small thing.
Then I realized she was crying in earnest. In fact her toe was broken.
Anyway I wonder: how is possible that such a small thing could hurt so much to reduce to tears a mature woman (my wife is 41) who have never shed a single tears in her life because of physical pain? (at least since we met, 20 years ago)

Have you ever experienced something similar?

Yes. My brother left the vacuum outside my door during the night. I woke up to go to the restroom, ran right into it, and sprained my toe. It was SOOO painful and I'm not a crier either, but tears autumatically sprang up. I had to hop around to take my mind off the pain.

Yes, and it is called a BROKEN BONE- stubbing your toe is actually slamming a part of your body which is not very well protected by the way, into an object that will not move thus- the broken bone and the excruciating pain- and don't forget the pain from banging the toenail- I'm sure you can relate to toenail pain, did you ever get an ingrown toenail? multiply that pain by oh, say 1 million and you can understand what your wife went through..........what kind of ignorant, selfish moron are you? I wish I could e mail your question to her so she would have good reason to slam your head against a wall so you can see if that hurts.................

I dropped a trash can on my toe a pair months in the past. I sat down and had tears in my eyes and might desire to not talk for a jiffy. i'm no wuss while it includes soreness, the two. i've got had 23 hours of exertions with my daughter, maximum cancers surgical operation on the bone in my thigh, shattered my suited wrist, and had gallbladder surgical operation. My finished toenail remains pink, and it is nonetheless surprisingly mushy. i did not even ruin mine like your spouse, so i could say -- heck, yeah! It hurts like loopy! i'm hoping she heals quickly and feels extra sensible quickly!

Easy if she has toenails and or she stubs her pinky toe and real hard, then u best believe she's in pain and u should make it up 2 her for jokingly teasing her in her moment of pain.Valentine's day is coming.and when toe heal rub her feet and remind her how special she will always be.Besides I've stubbed my toe and it has hurt and yes I 2 have cried and I fractured it.....once.

You seem to have a lot of time on your hands since you seem to be taking a survey of people stubbing their toes. How weird. Really, who cares about your wife's toe or her kidney stones. You are blathering on and it isn't particularly interesting.

yes
it's no small thing brother
and your inquiry reveals your love for her.
don't forget how quickly our lives can end
try to tell her how this affected you and I'm sure
without you even trying, the meaning of how you felt
will come
