As a student, I can say that, basically, I want a teacher that is funny and gets along with his/her students but also has full control of the classroom. I don't like teachers that confuse me or acts like they would rather be anywhere but in that classroom. I don't like teachers that get angry easily and yells at us a lot. But I also don't like teachers that are so nice that no one takes him/her seriously and the class is in constant chaos. There has to be a medium.

Another requirement would be an enthusiasm for the subject that they teach. I like a teacher who makes any topic "fun" for the students, interacting with them when necessary. I like a teacher that exudes confidence and is willing to help out those in need without completely abandoning the rest. But most of all, I like a teacher that "hangs out with us." The WORST teacher is one that throws us the classwork and homework, and then proceeds to hide behind the computer, leaving us alone. Then, if a student has a question to ask, the students tends to feel uneasy about "interrupting" the teacher. That is just horrible.

Just out of curiosity, why do you ask? Are you becoming a teacher, or do you just like other people's opinions?

Someone who can make you love what they are trying to teach you. There are so many different styles, that you cannot put into words the exact requirements.Someone who is a good teacher to one person may not necessarily inspire another.

Funny, well-educated, sensitive to ppl's needs, prepared, friendly & approachable, teaches well enough for us to succeed, good listener, respectful, encouraging and motivating, understandable. If I had a teacher that have all of these qualities, I'd be grateful.

my college algebra professor...

he wrote on the board and shacked his booty and it made me and all the girls hot.

he passed me with a 70 eventhough i was making a 50.

it was my third time trying college algebra and he gave me a break. he wasn't gay, but he knew dedication. he just didn't know the dedication was his aZZ and not his math.
