What is the best way for a large group of people to do fundraising?

I have a non-profit organization I'm trying to raise money for this Saturday from 1pm till around 5pm. I have considered sending the couple of hundred people I expect to show up door to door asking for small donations. The group I'm trying to raise money for is bloodwater missions (www.bloodwatermission.com). Does anyone know the best way to get a large group of people to raise the largest amount of money?

Combined Garage Sale, don't go door to door, someone will for sure call the cops
