Unfortunately your mobile studio isn't really that good. You are going to sacrifice one thing for another.
If you want to truly remove the background shadows, move your umbrella light more behind the subject to fill in the background with a light. (set the radio off using either a sync or wireless transmission).
You could always buy a 2nd light to use as a background light. Put a snoot on it and have it above the subject pointing downward betweent the subject and the background
Or use a reflector. A piece of bright white cardboard would work but won't produce a natural skin tone where it touches the subject's skin (assuming you are photographing humans).
You can also have the subject away from the background a little bit further to soften the shadow and still use your flash / fill light combo.

You may have to buy a second flash that lights up the background. The backlighting will help anyway, so it will be worth it. I believe you can buy some that go off as soon as the first flash does. Just set it to light up the area that has been getting a shadow.

I dont know how you're setting it up but the further away the umbrella, the harsher the shadow. So two suggestions, put the umbrella closer to the subject and put the subject further away from the background.

talking purple Floyd, I had the comparable difficulty you had yet a pair months later I have been given into all of the greatness of The Wall and that i like it! however the album that truly took me longest to get into, customary, replace into Aerosmith's Rocks. it extremely is SUCH an magnificent album and lower back, a number of my famous songs are there yet there is something approximately it that merely would not look to in superb condition... BQ: actual I basically have The Wall and dark section BQ2: unsure, I even have many long solos...
