Who gave more of their own lives to help others, atheists or Christians? Who sends more people to third world countries to offer them help physically, mentally, AND spiritually instead of just photographing them for National Geographic and studying them in their natural habitat? Who treks through jungles, faces constant persecution from countries like China or militant groups like the ones in the Philippines who captured the missionary couple, all for the purpose of reaching out to others? Who actually gets out there to make sure the money they are giving to their "charities" is actualy doing something, instead of just throwing money at the problem? Who does these things more, Christians, or atheists?

It isn't the atheists.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure all those people who gave to charity were fine, upstanding Christians. I don't think there's a poll for that question anyway. Why don't you find it and post it.

Bill Gates gives enough for both Atheists & Christians anyhow. He's loaded and gives tons away for his own personal reasons, not because he wants to get in good with the guy upstairs. God knows when you're fishing for brownie points. That's a no no by the way.

I'm not sure how this could be proved or if it even matters. You might ask yourself why do we have so many people needing charity and whats the cause behind it all.One thing that has been proved is much of the need could be annihilated if people were serving God instead of self.

Who knows? I know I give to charity, help out in my neighborhood and do what I can to make the world a better place. I'm teaching my daughter to do the same things, and that's good enough for me.
I'd also like to note that many of the christian organizations you seem to be seem to be so proud of offer their aid in return for a profession of christianity. In other words, become a christian or we won't feed you. My stepfather is a baptist minister, as is my grandfather; they are both of the opinion that it would be better for people to be dead christians than live non-christians. My stepfather spelled it out quite plainly: if he had to choose between giving someone a bible or giving them food to keep them alive, he would give them a bible and let them starve.
That seems like poor charity to me.

Sadly most churches are the ones ASKING for money. And if you don't want to count Bill Gates then you shouldn't count a lot of your "religious heroes"

I wonder how much Bill Gates would have given if he didn't get a huge tax deduction for it. Judging by the montrously bad press he got initially, pretty close to nothing.
