I've been there before..
Just don't linger on any memories, what's done is done and it's time to move on, I know everyone says that... but it's true, you don't have to go out and find someone new right away but just try not to think about him, go and do somethings that you love to do, stuff that has nothing to do with him, and friends can be a big help too as long as you tell them not to mention him or to forget him as well

I know the feeling. My girl broke up with me about 3 months ago when i told her i had feelings for her. I suspected she was scared of any kind of comittment but at the time my heart had broken cos i felt really attracted to her. Ok granted i wasn't in love with her, but if she hadn't ended it, it might have gotten that far. Anyway the point is when she tore my heart out of my chest, i focused on something else, anything to keep my mind off her. I started exercising more, doing jigsaw puzzles and just other pointless crap to try and forget. As well as talking to friends about it, it really helps. It worked for me.

You shouldn't have to forget him. Focus on moving forward though and on yourself. Start doing lots of things with your friends, make new friends and enjoy being single. Sooner or later you'll be back with someone new and you'll wish that you had enjoyed being single more. You can do anything you like now that you're single so stop sulking!

well you just told many people. anonymously true but you still did. that's a good first step. i wish you well. it may be your hardest struggle but life is full of many struggles. 10% of males are thought to be gay world wide. many will never admit it or will only part way. perhaps over time you will feel comfortable with telling your parents, maybe not. gay is genetic and most likely there are other gay members in your family tree. yes they may not have been open about it. lets see in my family there is a nun (sister) and one gay uncle. out of 12 children on my dads side. i have a friend who is gay and so is his brother. since your question is so long may i go on longer? do you have gay attributes? for example voice, mannerisms, interests? (musicals, art if not left handed) lol and such? if so do you not think that your parents expressing anti gay remarks maybe because they already have suspicion and wish to deni it. as far as friends go your in a tough age bracket to feel alone. i am older and can not relate to that now but i remember being lonely and can say that although life can suck for periods of time that when good times come again they far out weigh the bad so hang in there no matter how bad it seems ...ok? :-) take care kid and the best of luck to you

Lemme drop a jewel on you honey, you NEVER forget. And why would you want to? He WAS your first love. The key here is to not DWELL on it. It's time to pick up the pieces and move on, hard as it may be to do or hear.

i understand how you feel. i don't think there is much you can do, just let time deal with it. In my experience first love is never forgotten. Just try to move on and don't obsess over it.

Depends on how long ago he was your true love and why you want to forget him. I can't leave my true love. Not matter what.

The first ones are the hardest. Just give it time. Eventually you'll meet someone new.
