My Windows won't start up. I think there's a problem in registry. So I'd removed the hard drive and attached it to the working pc as a slave. Where should I find the reg files in the attached drive? Is it possible to find it, open it and edit it?

Unluckily it could not be solved by selecting safe mode.

here are a few methods i can think of---

1) editing registry----go to run,type "regedit".
2) use system restore
3) last known good configuration option (press f8 on restart)

What you can do is this. Put the drive back in your pc. Restart the pc and tap the F8 key repeatedly until you see a prompt screen.....go to last "known good configuration- settings that worked" and hit ok.....see if that works. If not I would suggest reinstalling the OS. You can reinstall on top of itself so you don't have to format.
