Probably Korea because they do Tae Kwon Do all day

Well your asking about street fighting not Tae Kwon Do and Karate so some of the answers are missing the point. But i think that England and Ireland have the toughest street fighters, Have you ever seen a soccer riot???? Those are street fighters. If you can name what a fighter is doing, he ain't no street fighter people. Throwing a person with a Judo move is not street fighting, a spinning back fist is not a street move, a Kimura is not a street move, kicking someone in the balls and headbuding him in the face is a street fight.

TKD540, the brainwash is complete.

the flaw with your TKD statement is that it is predictable, and cloned. the unknown attacks you will find outside your trophy room will show you the real world of fighting.

if you havent tested your style against unknown assailants, then how can you say your art is effective? even a good art can be let down by the person pissing themselves when attacked.

tournament competitors are not great fighters, but only great competitors, when matched against their own style. a black belt tells me that they can beat all belts below them and reflects their understanding of THEIR style ONLY.

the question was street fighters, and they lurk in the areas you are too scared to go to. If you go to jail, it will be them dropping the soap, and you bending over to pick it up.
------------------------------
my answer would be any country that has extreme poverty and desperate citizens. people that live on the streets and mug people because they have to. street gangs have mall members risking jail to fight for loyalty. they are not the dojo badass, but a creature more intimidating than you will find associated with rules and formality. the dojo is safe, the real world is not.

Samoa?

Brazil?

Los Angeles?

It is an impossible question to figure.

Sorry I can't go along with Korea yeah I know they do TKD but they also are small people. Size matters in fighting. You have exceptions like Bruce Lee and Kano but those are rare.

Toughest, well that would be interesting to find out.

Here's my plan, we start an underground fighting tournament and invite only the best street fighters from around the world ... sounds kind of like Bloodsport doesn't it. The problem is that to find out would be impossible.

USA, Brazil and Russia. Lots of great fighters from those countries who claim to have started as street fighters.

1.USA(were just bigger and have more food then other countries)
2.Russia(because they drink vodka and grease themselves up to wrestle)
3.Brazil and Thailand(because fighting over ther is like playing baseball of something)
4.Polynesia(because they got heads like watermelons)
