I personally think Santa fe looks real good, and It is a great car, If you want a little bit of power to go with your SUV, probably go ahead and pick either of the hyundai, since CR-V is only available in four cylinder. even if you are not, I'd still go with either of the hyundai's preferably santa fe.You can get so much bang for your buck with hyundais in terms of number of options you can have for so much less than basic honda model. Don't question the reliability of the either make of the vehicles, people that say hyundai sucks, their minds are stuck on early 90s. Honda cars can be crappiest junk in the world in some cases, most of the time it all depends on your luck.

The v6 in Tucson has about the same amount of power as the 4 cyl Honda. The most important question to ask is how long do you plan to keep the car. The two biggest difference for the cars is the resale value and warranty. If you to get a new car every two or three years then the cr-v is the way to go because of re-sale value. If you plan to keep the car for 5 years or more than the Tucson is the way to go. If the cr-v is big enough for you than the Tucson will be good enough size wise. The Rav-4 recieved a 4 star crash test rating in front passanger accidents, the cr-v and Tucson are 5 star saftey rated vehicles. Personally I like the Tucson more, because you get a better warranty for thousands less. You are really missing out if you don't try the Tucson. Stay away from the 4 cyl Tucson though. I highly recommened the 2.7 v6 which is one of the most reliable engines in America.

I have the Santa Fe and my parents have the CRV - I LOVE my Santa Fe!! It is just as well equipped, reliable and fun to drive as the CRV but with a $5000 (on average) price difference. If you have the extra cash, so be it I guess, but here's a few reasons I like mine better, besides the extra $5000 in the bank!
1) The back hatch - mine lifts up, the CRV opens like a door. If some *%$ parks on you tail and you need to chuck something in the back, you can't get the back door open! I like mine better!
2) Mine has a power outlet in the back (for my electric cooler when I camp) theirs doesn't.
3) Style - the CRV is boxy and just rather generic looking! The Santa Fe has style and just looks different than the others. If you like to stand out a bit, it's a better choice!
I literally did hours of reserching the two, test driving both and asking Hyundai and Honda owners about their customer satisfaction (I'd randomly ask them at a gas station - even scored a date once doing that). I found the Santa Fe beter value for the dollar with equivalent performance! I purchased the 2.7 litre V6 AWD (if you're going to buy one, go with the V6) and this is my fave vehicle ever. The debate between the Santa Fe and Tuscon is now up to you - the Santa Fe is a bit bigger. Do you need the room? Are you buying it to haul things or just for the added height on the road? Do you need 4 wheel drive? Good luck with your purchase and remember - don't pay sticker price! You can usually get them down $2000-$3000 off the sticker price!

I actually test-drove the new CR-V before I ended up choosing a Tucson. In my opinion, the new CR-V feels small. Course, I love my father's 2004 CR-V, so that may be a little biased. The Tucson gives you a ton of features for low price. A lot of people complain about the low fuel economy of the Tucson, but it sounds like a lot of people have the V6 4WD version. My 4-Cyl FWD version has gotten decent highway mileage on the 4 300-mile trips I've taken with it through Idaho's heartland. So, if I were you, I'd test-drive both and see how you feel about it.

In trying to decide between the tucson and santa fe you need to know how much space you need and how much power you need. Do you plan to ever pull a trailer or are you going to be traveling solo most of the time? You may also consider the restyled Toyota Rav-4, which is my personal favorite in the small-mid-size Suv class. All 4 of these vehicles are great options, some of it depends on your needs and then of course you should test drive a minimum of 2 different brands. When the salesman asks if you are ready to sit down, simply say thank you for your time there's another vehicle I want to test drive, bye for now.

I'd go with Hyundai but the Santa Fe only comes in V6 so if you're looking for fuel efficiency go with Tucson. Both are really good cars with many accolades that you can see all over the internet.

The CR-V is the tried and tested, has the history behind it. Hyundai are making decent vehicles but aren't as technically advanced as Honda, it shows in refinement and fuel efficiency. In re-sale value the Honda can't be beat.
