Please don't say 'nothing with carbs', because again this is my first time doing a diet so I don't know what that means. Just tell me specific foods, Thanks.

First off, whoever told you about dieting is a moron.

There's nothing you absolutely cannot eat. Go by the food pyramid and the serving sizes on boxes and you'll be fine.

Every day, you need:
-8 glasses (8oz each) of water
-6 servings of grain
-4-5 servings of fruits and/or veggies
-2-3 servings of dairy
-2+ servings of meat, poultry or another protein

Don't know what a serving is? LOOK AT THE PACKAGE. For poultry and meat, a serving is about the size of a casette tape or a deck of cards, if you're too young to remember casettes. What I do to keep track is to write down on an index card a checklist of each of the above food groups and check off how many servings I have of each as I eat them.

Don't listen to anyone telling you to cut carbs. They don't know what they're talking about. Your body NEEDS carbs for energy. However, all carbs are not equal. Look for foods with complex carbs-- things that are whole grain or multigrain, like cereals from General Mills or Barilla Whole Grain pastas.

You can even still eat the occassional chocolate or ice cream-- occassionally. Like, no more than once a week or so.

As for fats, a good rule of thumb is that the calories from fat should be less than 1/3 of the total calories. Not to say that you CAN'T eat it if it's more than that, but its just a helpful guideline.

One of the best dieting tips I can give you is not to make it too complicated. If its too complicated, you won't follow it. So stick to very simple rules, like the food pyramid and the index card thing. Not too many rules, not too much to remember, not too too strict; just follow those simple guidelines and you'll be fine.

And lastly, no diet will keep the weight off if you don't exercise. Otherwise, you'll be dieting for the rest of your life just trying to maintain your weight.

Good luck and I hope this helped.

diet is such a negative word, but if you want to change the way you look then changing your eating habits is the first step. Exercise will even make it come true faster. Stick to the basics like eggs, milk, oatmeal, fish, chicken breasts, all green vegetables, fruits, lots of water, wheat bread, natural/organic foods are the best. Try to eat 4-5 smaller meals a day and pick one day of the week that you want to eat whatever you want. Don't deprive yourself of your favorite desert. Changing your eating habits should be fun or it won't last. Enjoy it and appreciate that you will feel better, look better, and think better. It's amazing how smarter we become when we eat the right foods.

NEVER EVER NOT EAT CARBS.
just needed to get that out, carbs are the bodies source of most of its energy, so cutting down on that isnt good for you. By the way, carbs are just short for carbohydrates.
What you should avoid are fats and cholesterols. If your at a restaurant look for their low fat choices, since those are slightly healthier, and when shopping for food, find things that are low in unsaturated and saturated fats, avoid trans fats at all costs since they can cause cancer.
As for what you can't eat, there are too many things that are high in fat so i would recommend looking at the nutrition facts first, but as for weight loss, eat several small meals or snacks a day. Starving yourself just causes you to binge eat when your willpower breaks down, that can lead to a psychological illness known as bulimia. Keep yourself reasonably full so you dont get the urge to eat large meals. also eat slowly since this gives you body more time to realize that its full. so overall remember, eat small frequent meals, not big seldom ones.

Avoid any foods that are high in sugar and/or fat. Other than that, measure every portion that you eat, and keep a diary of all the calories you consume. There's probably a calculator somewhere online to tell you how many calories you should be consuming to maintain your weight, just cut that number back by a few hundred, and eat less than that.

You should avoid junk food like chips and lots of candy etc. Eat fresh fruits and veggies, lean cuts of meat like skinless chicken or pork. Limit your carbohydrates which would be white bread, pasta and rice type things. For snacks consider yogurt, string cheese, nuts and fruit you dehydrated yourself.
