drank on the job at age 17.
got fired. like i thought i wouldn't get caught?????
duh?
i don't drink at all now decades later, but my mom was at death's door.
oh-- supidest thing--- not to tell my mom I needed her in my life and how much i loved her, and how i couldn't imagine life w/o her if she died when i was 14. at age 17 i told her i hated her, and I would see her at her funeral. and walked out.
that was dumb, but i was just a kid needed a mom so bad-- a well mom to help me sort thru my life. she died when i was 44.
god doctors can be so wrong. what a waste of years.
in the end, and what i've learned, is to end all converstations with I love you, or see u soon. AND in the end, i moved into my mom's away from my husband and family and took care of her with help of hospice for the final stage of her life, for 4 months, i let her love me up, and i let her in. she didn't remember any of the mean things i said, and forgave me.
it's never too late to redeme yourself with an apology.
that's all anyone wants is to know they are loved, and that their life mattered.
so tragic so sad.

Walked out of my secure hospital job, insurance, 401K, retirement plan, sold everything, ignored my bills, and moved to Kauai. At 40 years old. Less than a year later, had a stroke, couldn't work at all, had to move back to the mainland and in with my mother-in-law.
And I would do it again.
