poor baby. I would take him to another vet, this sounds serious, throwing up often is not good for your health or any other animal's. The gastric acid from the vomit could destroy the dogs esophagus, and cause his/her death, please take him/her to another vet.

I have Poms. Two were no problem but the third is 7 months old and starting to do this. My Pom throws up more from the throat than the stomach. I have switched to Natural Balance (look it up on the internet, highest quality food you can guy) I now buy it at Petco but used to find at mom and pop pet store. My little Pom does best on small pieces of food. I found that when she does not chew the kibble and the packaged food stick good enough, she will wheez and throw up, as the food seems to stick in the throat. Remember, Poms have very narrow throats and air passageways so be very careful with the throat area and what size bits of food they are trying to swallow. Switching my Poms to Natural Balance dog food has given them the most beautiful shiny coats they have ever had and they beg for the food like it is a "treat".
I gave mine 1 cc of Pepto Bismol and switched her to rice for a couple days and now if I watch the size of the food she is trying to swallow she is fine. Good Luck. the Poms are worth the extra trouble.......

I would definitely take the dog to another vet for a second opinion. Just not normal for the continual vomiting,, I sure hope no one is poisoning him. Have you thought about that??? You might want to keep a good eye on him and what he eats, even when he is outside. Hope he gets better Dog Lover

How old is your Pom? How long have you had him/her? There are number of esophageal abnormalities that could be considered. I would seek a second vet opinion possibly with a specialist in upper respiratory syndromes.

My sister has had two Poms and this wasn't a problem. You may have to start cooking his food. I'm sure he could stomach ground turkey and brown rice. Or meat loaf and mashed potatoes. Or hamburger and sweet potatoe in his tiny little stomach.

The vet suggested food allergies, but did you change foods or try to find out which ingredient might be causing the problem?

Have you tried dick van pattens NATURAL BALANCE dog food. You can pick it up at your local vet. (call around) If you have tried it, YES, they are known to have some stomach problems. They are literally picky eaters. It probably is allergies. Sorry to tell you, you pup might be the one of few who actually need a healthy diet of people food. ( meats, greens((some, not all!-check into it)) and soft dog food.) They are not cheap dogs! Good luck :)

We use to have a Pom that ate his own poop and threw up frequently. Make sure the poop isn't disappearing!
