Red meat typically has more fat and cholesterol in it than white meats but it is also higher in iron and B vitamins where white meats are not. Benefits to each, however.

The following is the reason why some Birds have Red meat while others have white meat. Red meat is on those birds(e.g. Ostrich ) which have slow-twitch muscles used for extended periods of activity, such as standing or walking, and need a consistent energy source. These muscle cells, have a pigmented protein myoglobin, the more myoglobin there is in the cells, the redder the meat. Whileas, White meat is on birds( e.g. Chicken) with fast-twitch muscles used for quick bursts of activity, such as fleeing from danger. These muscles get energy from glycogen, which is also stored in the muscles. Hope you have a slightly better notion now!!
