are surprises good?

I think either one would be great for different reasons. I guess personally I'd like a public place. It would be more exciting and everyone around you would clap and congratulate you. But private may be more romantic. Depends on her I guess. Is she shy? Does she like being the center of attention. That should help you decide.

I'm not a woman but surprises are always good. Private places are better because they're more romantic and women don't have the pressure of saying yes like in a public place with hundred's of people awaiting your answer. Though some people prefer public places, if they really love you, having a crowd of thousand's of people cheering for you at a baseball is always a plus.

The only thing I can tell you is how I would like to be proposed to. The ideal place for me would be at Disney World. I would love to be in one of those "fancy" restaruants where there was a table for 2. He would do all the ordering for the food. He would then order dessert and the ring would be with the dessert. I would see it and he would propose. It could be in a private little corner of the restaruant or it could be out in the open.

Now, to answer your question about if surprises were good?
MOST definitely. Surprises are the best when it comes to proposing. Especially when it comes to from the heart.

I definitely think that the proposal should be a surprise. I don't believe the girl should pick out the ring before hand. Girls should just trust their man to do that.

Also, I believe the proposal should be done in private. Just the two of you. I don't want everyone else ohhing and awwing other our special and private moment. Just the two of you emphasizes the intimacy that the moment brings.

I think it depends on the girl, some girls love attention, and that girl would want it in a public place, and some girls are more conservative and would rather it be private/intimate/romantic. But if she loves you and wants to marry you, she will be happy to be asked either way you choose. Just be sure to put some thought into it and be creative and romantic with it.

private private private. and if you are going to surprise her make sure that she is at least in the same mindset as you because if you ask a woman in public she going to say yes so that she will not embarass you or hurt your feelings.

Surprises are good, but do it somewhere private. Doing it in front of a ton of people could be a little hoaky and possibly embarrassing.

it would be better in a private place just in case the answer is no, noone will be embarrassed in front of a group of people. Plus most people prefer privacy when it comes to commitment of that sort.

I would rather be in a private place so in case you weren't ready to get married you could tell him and not embarrass him and when you finally say yes then bring it to public viewing!
