For a 10" portable, the Philips PET1002 is probably the best. However, I would choose the 8" Sony DVP-FX810 because it has a better picture -not to mention that it's about $100 less.

I would have to agree with the first poster. I have this model, which I bought from Circuit City for about $190 after stacking some coupons and rebates. Excellent video quality and battery life. I would say it has 4-6 hours of battery life, which I love on my 4-5 hour business flights. Dual headphone jacks, so your travelmate can watch with you. It comes with composite and component cabling and a decent case. It's quite a bargain.

My only complaints would be flimsy DVD lid, a little on the noisy side and speakers are not that loud. Beyond that, I am impressed with picture and features for the price.

Stay away from the Coby and Poloraid portable DVD players!
