Well for the best value get a Nikon. I get great photos with my non-name brand camera.

the best compact digtial cam is fuji finepix F series cam!!! 1) none anyother digtial cam can fight with fuji F series cam( F30 or newer F31ED) its more on maual control.... very good for anytime shot in day/night... exellent in night... cus only ex price cam able to done it!!! but fuji F series do it wit two thumb up!!! :) without tripod... in extreamly high speed shot!!! believe u will not regret n love yr cam day or night without any problem!!!! most compact cam cannot done well in night low light mode... but the F series fuji is the one!!!!!! enjoy!!!!!
