Im kind of dark skinned, like christina milian's skin, or even darker. My hair color is dark brown and i want to have beyonce`s hair color, or i just want to dye it to a lighter color. But i dont know any `light` colors that would fit me. and plus, im going to do it at home, so i cant mess up.

If you can maintain highlights I'd reccomend going to a light or medium brown, a few shades lighter than your natural color.. and then getting caramel highlights, maybe with another shade of blonde too.

If not I'd reccomend going with a honey/caramel blonde.. not too light but light enough. I'm telling you to go light because since your hair is dark and won't take well if you dye it a dark brownish blonde. Just don't use peroxide or bleach. Beyonce is beautiful. But take Ciara for example - I think she looks so much better with darker hair.. but whatever floats your boat hun. :) Good luck! And make sure you condition weekly or every couple days after you dye it.

I would start with a golden tone or a reddish tone. Don't go too light, because you may not like it or it may not look right. Fortunately, if you do go too light, you can correct it, but every time you re-dye it, the hair follicle will get more and more damaged and your hair will dry out. You could try one of those "temporary" colors to test out shades, but they also cause dryness.

Now, I have to mention the 100% Color Line from Garnier. They have a type that is called Ultra Lift Brown and it really lightens dark hair. It was way too light for my hair, but if you find you have "hard-to-lighten" hair, it may be the right product for you.

Lastly, after you do color be sure to use a good after color conditioner - many dye packages come with them these days. Also, using a special shampoo for "colored" hair really seems to help the dryness. IF your hair does dry out a lot, Pantene products can really work well to add softness.

Good Luck!

Maybe just give it some lighter highlights instead of the overall color change! That way it's more subtle. Try a red, lighter brown or blond to highlight!!

in case you have dark hair, the only thank you to lighten it somewhat is by employing stripping coloration. Hair soaking up the pigment in the dye is the mechanism by employing which hair dye works. in the adventure that your hair is already dark, it already has quite some pigment in it, which reduces the quantity of pigment it could take up. it somewhat is appropriate to organic colorings as nicely as extraordinary colorings like pink, pink, blue, etc. while you're no longer keen to bleach (or strip it with another approach, like lemon juice + sunlight) your hair, the style of colorings you should use is very constrained. Any dye you utilize it somewhat is lighter than your present day hair coloration will, at suitable, supply your hair a "sheen" in that coloration--the halo you spot on your hair in bright gentle. the only thank you to make a cool coloration flip out that coloration with any accuracy is initially very gentle hair (no orange hair, the two, except you're making plans on demise it a heat coloration--beware for this in case you be certain to bleach it in the top). in any different case, the ensuing hair coloration would be a mix of your present day hair coloration and the dye you used.. And in the adventure that your hair is dark initially, it would be like attempting to apply a pink marker over a dismal brown marker. that's in simple terms no longer likely to flip out the colour of the bottle. On a brighter word, once you're finding for a stable dye it somewhat is attainable in funky colorings, i might advise specific FX. i've got used it some instances in the previous with super effects. it always lasts approximately 2 months for me, yet washes out swifter the extra usually you wash your hair. you could upload slightly of the dye on your conditioner and that helps some. circumvent Manic Panic once you're finding for a dye which will final extra effective than in basic terms some weeks. that's vegetable-based and does not paintings nicely except you start up with particularly gentle hair (it quite works by employing hair soaking up dye in simple terms like different dyes paintings, in spite of if it takes plenty extra soaking up with this one than maximum--for this reason, why it quite works suitable on very gentle hair). That, and it in simple terms washes out quickly except you in basic terms wash your hair once or twice a week. suitable of success to you!
