There are 22 official anguages in India and all are totally different from each other...and there are 500 dialects.

Hindi and English are mainly spoken and understood as a contact language between different language groups.

Dear Tweeti:

First of all, why Indian? I am thinking loud but it seems like you might have a friend that you really love and that friend is from India or something and you want to please him/her. If that is the case then goodluck!

Comming back to the point;
India has a large collection of languages. Bengali, Sanskrit, Tamil, Punjabi etc... But if you really want to learn an Indian language I suggest you learn Urdu as it is understood in most areas of India and Pakistan.

There are two ways to learn any new language:
If you shift to India you will learn real quick but i don't think that is a good option. So make friends with natives, or even better work with them.

Second: Take Classes, They are available for different languages. You may use "Teach yourself" Cd programs or cassettes.
If you are not sure of selecting a language, I will propose "Pashto". It’s very rich have a very long historic background and is emerging... Good linguists in this language have a growing demand. It is the national language of Afghanistan it’s also the native language in the tribal and surrounding areas, currently ""under the supervision of Pakistan"".
Above all Pashto is not only a language rather it’s a culture and a way of life.

So I recommend you try and learn this language.

To learn Cambodian, when I was 13, I volunteered to help run a convenience store, owned by Cambodian immigrants, and got paid in lessons of Khmer.
The best way to learn a language is by a native speaker. I now speak fluent Cambodian.

If you can't don't that get Indian Rosette Stone. It's great as well. It's very expencive $500 for the 3 parts, but it's garaunteed to work.

You can rip the entire program though, if you download a torrent site, like BitComet.com. Torrents really are free, and they can't give you viruses like LimeWire, either.

Feel free to email me if you wanna know more about it, too.

See. you have kicked up a controversy over the language issue. India is too large a country, where hundreds of cultures, with different languages etc live. Now, which one of the several Indian languages will you choose, without attracting the contempt of other languages?

What kind of Indian language? There is NO language called "Indian."
If you want to learn an Indian language, learn Hindi as it is used the most in India, out of all the other languages.

With appreciate, what you have written in English would not propose which you would be a stable e book-learner of a much off places language. in the 1st international conflict it became into discovered that a lot of Cockneys who had by no potential studied French spoke the language fluently interior of a few months while their public-college knowledgeable officers might desire to no longer. This became into simply by fact they have been immersed in the form of life of the country as they have been billeted in villages the place no English became into spoken and with the determination of the two sinking or swimming their innate language-studying potential became into switched on. My suggestion then may be so which you may bypass and stay in Turkey for a whilst - alongside with your husbands kin (?) and without English-conversing disractions - and then proceed alongside with your husband's help whilst lower back in the united kingdom. How sensible this may be relies upon on your situations.
