You get a background check when you buy your gun. Then you get checked when you apply for a permit. Assuminig you pass the two checks, and the issuing state(your state) has a "shall issue" law, you get to pony up for state police fingerprints and pay a lot of money for your permit.---Just to recap: You buy a gun, sit down at the sherrifs office for an hour minimum and get fingerprinted, then pay money...Have we been here before? Ok now to your question: Traffic violations are just that. Violations. They are not crimes. DUI, hit and run ect, are crimes. You need to check what your are charged with and go from there...Your state doesnt care what kind of student you are so grades dont matter. If they did, they'd be paying more to schools...still with me? Ok If you hunt, you dont need a permit. You can carry to or from in Oregon and most other states.
The criminal line is much shorter however. You dont have to wait for any paperwork and you dont have to worry about your record. Just get a gun and do whatever. Let the honest guys pay. Oh yea And dont get caught(sarcastic).

Depends on the State, to some degree. In some of our more socialistic states you can only get a carry permit if you are wealthy and politically connected. In those states where more common sense prevails your poor school performance will not disqualify you from the permit, nor will a traffic ticket. Some states will not issue a permit if you have drug and alcohol convictions, such as your DUI. Whether you hunt or not does not effect the carry permit. Felony convictions, domestic violence convictions, some protection orders will result in you being denied a carry permit and even the possession of a gun.

A few minor traffic tickets will not keep you from getting a ccw, but if you have a list as long as your arm, then this will NOT bode well for you when you apply for the ccw. You have shown a disregard for the law, although they may be misdemenors.

Generally Yes.

Dependent on the state. You can forget California and New York....they dont give any out. Reality is...the home invaders would have shot you dead by the time a patrol car could get to you. Get yourself a good scatter gun, load it with 00 buck, and put 2 center mass as they walk down your hallway towards you.

Go to a right to carry website. There is plenty of reading there.

In most states if you're convicted of any felony, domestic abuse, along with some other criminal or violent activity, you wouldn't have to worry about getting denied a ccw license, you couldn't even be eligible for a pistol purchase permit.

Depends upon the state. I would think a DUI would be a problem and so would domestic abuse in all the states.... You can check yourself at the Packing.org website.

You need a permit and a very good reason to carry a weapon. Your background will be checked thoroughly.

You need a permit for the weapon and some of the offenses you listed would disqualify you from getting that permit.

Criminal records will be a ground for disqualification for someone who is applying for carrying a gun.
