I find handing my husband a screaming child works wonders. Hubbie needs to visit with his family at their house while you're out having a mani/pedi, girl. Let him do it alone in front of them and maybe the lightbulb will come on. I believe in making them suffer for their stupidity, but that's just me.
When my husband ignored what needs to be done, I shut down.
No cooking, no laundry, nothing. After a week of my asking him to being home take out he got it. Now he gives baths after dinner, does story time, brushes teeth, and even empties the dishwasher on the weekends!
And I think my voice sounds like white noise in his ears so he needs object lessons, that's why I developed my strategy.

Tell him u can take the kids to see your family im not going until u learn to show some responsibility with your kids.
