I don't see it happening. It didn't work during Prohibition, they just had illegal speakeasy's open up. Too many people would not allow it to pass in Congress. There is a great big lobby of liquor manufacturers and distrubutors that would never let it pass. They have the money and money talks.

That is as easy as stopping people from breathing. Just kill everyone!

There is alcohol in most, especially fruit, foods.

Prohibition had a major side effect in building up organised crime.

For Islam the Koran forbids drinking that which muddles the mind, yet many Muslims imbibe. Alcohol is so easy to make and so long as the demand is there people will drink. Most religions are variously opposed to drinking alcohol: especially too much. Political and social/medical authorities also oppose the excessive use of alcohol especially when it leads to violence.

If it is not even possible to stop the use of crack cocaine and amphetamines how can you possibly expect to stop people from drinking alcohol. Moreover what right have you to do so?

That was tried once in the 20's it was called Prohibition look it up -it is not worth repeating. Actually it would cost communities a fortune too in the loss of "sin tax dollars".

It's just this simple: If you don't want to consume alcoholic beverages, don't. Don't push your notions on everyone else however.

As mentioned, this was tried once and gave rise to organized crime (besides the ATF) and lot's of death/destruction for money.

The jeanie is "out of the bottle" so to speak and can't be put back in. Education is the best defense. Not legislation.
