Just go to counseling..this is not the type of place that is going to be able to help you..you want an answer when that may not be as easy as you think..you are probally depressed but i don't believe you are truly suicidal..because if you were you would be on the news as reported as dead just like the friend of my family who just up and shot himself in the mouth after he shot his ex girlfriends boyfriend..yes he made it fox 25 news and he is dead now..he didn't go on website talking to complete strangers telling them he thinks about death..he just did it

First: suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Your pain can be helped. If you commit suicide, you will make the people who love you very sad, but if you get help, you can enjoy the rest of your life.

I agree with the other respondent who indicated that this is not the place to get help. Thoughts of suicide should be taken seriously. You do not need to have your mental health subjected to the scrutiny and judgement of a public forum, and you deserve to be treated by trained professionals who will address your problem with the seriousness it deserves.

Suicidal thoughts are a major component of depression. If you are interested, there is a site at http://www.depressionscreening.org/ which will ask you some questions and indicate whether you probably have depression. Depression can be helped with talk therapy and, in some cases medication.

The resources that are available to you depend greatly on your circumstances. Calling an anonymous suicide help line can point you in the direction of helpful resources. There is a national hotline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) described at http://www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org/ There are probably more helplines in your area, which may be tuned in to local resources. You can find these in the phone book. You may be thinking, "I'm not in crisis. The people who need to call a suicide help line are on the edge, with a bottle of pills in one hand, and a razor blade in the other!" If you are thinking about killing yourself, you should call. Don't wait until you are desperate.

If you have your own insurance, you can start by finding out what mental health coverage is available. If you get your insurance through your parents, and you are comfortable talking to your parents, you can go through their insurance providers. See a counselor through your insurance, who can decide the best course of treatment. If you are a student, there may be resources available to you for free or a reduced cost. For example, where I went to college, there was a program where grad students in psychology gave free counseling to students in need.

If you are allowed to choose a therapist through your insurance, there are several guides available online describing how to choose and what types of mental health professionals are available. (http://mentalhealth.samhsa.gov/publications/allpubs/KEN98-0046/default.asp, http://psychcentral.com/lib/2006/01/types-of-mental-health-professionals/)
The main thing is, don't be discouraged if you don't click with your first therapist. If you don't feel comfortable with your therapist, or you feel like you're just not speaking the same language, you can find a new therapist. Don't judge all therapy by one therapist, because different therapists have different approaches.

I realize that what you asked is now not to think about death so much, and not where to get help. However, I think that getting help is the best solution to alleviating those thoughts. Don't be embarrassed to get help. The worst thing that could happen would be to have a professional say "Oh, well, your thoughts are nothing serious." Wouldn't that be a relief? A counselor can help you with strategies to solve problems that are at the root of your depression, too.

Best of luck to you, and I hope that you find some relief.

Well you really need to go and find a therapist and i do mean now, cause if you think about it long enough, then you may just do it, plus you r asking people to take care of your family, So Please i want you to pick up the phone and call the crisis line and get some help right this moment. So you really need to go and see a therapist and your doctor, and get into therapy so that you can stop thinking about taking your life. And work to see why you want to do this , cause there is something in the pass that is coming up and doing this , and you really need to work on the issure, or issures that are causing you to feel that you want to take your own life. So please call the local crisis line and get the help that you need, and please do it right away.

I dunno how old you are.*** If you are a teen, your parent(s) should know about this so they can take you to the doctor. ***You could call a crisis line (1800SUICIDE if you don't know your local one, or can't find it in the phone book). A lot of people think about death when they are depressed, and the key to saving their life is to get treatment for the depression. You don't sound like you have a plan, so you don't need the emergency room, probably, but this is a very urgent problem and you should see a doctor this week. You don't need to feel so crappy. Treatment really does make you feel better!!!

Sounds like you are depressed. It happens this way when your mind begins to control your thoughts.
Stay focused, listen to inspirational music, keep busy,
plan interesting things to do with your life. Read the Bible, Psalms 23, "The Lord Is My Shepherd, I Shall Not Want",
Talk to friends and Family members, especially when the thoughts start to come.
Lastly, you can seek the advice of a Doctor.,

If you are having suicidal tendencies you are obviously suffering from severe depression. Better talk to some support groups and go to a hospital or ER if needed.

There are a lot of alternative treament options in addition to allopathy. Ayurveda and Homeopathy, Bach Flower Remedies and Reiki are some options. Don't give up. Seek help. Sending Reiki to you for your highest welfare. God bless.

Let's see, how can i put this. death is not the answer. as everyone will say "It is a permanent solution to a temporary problem." I know you are tring to get help but you are right, you need it faster. stop waiting please. go to the doctor now. i don't care if you already have an appointment, go now and tell them your situation. tell them you are having serious thoughts of suicide and need to see the doctor right away. if they still ignore you go to the hospital. Also, dont even think about trying to kill yourself. you CAN get help, you just have to really want it. You said "but if you want anything that bad youll do it". i know you want help so nothing should be able to stop you from getting it. go now and act quickly. to stop thinking about death all you need to do is think about how happy some people are. you know how you see people walking down a street just laughing and smiling. i want u to realize that you can be that person. all you have to do is get help.... so stop thinking about death start thinking about how your life will be with therapy and go to the doctor

God gave you life. It was a gift because He loves you and will take care of you if you will let him. Cherish your life, no matter if it's hard or easy. Bad days will leave and good days will come. Don't ever do anything to hurt yourself because that would hurt God who created you. If you are in crisis go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 and talk to someone. Honey, there's help for you if you will just reach out and take it. You have a great future ahead of you so reach for it. Get help now. God loves you. I will pray for you.

I am bipolar, and only was told by a doctor. I got on meds and went into therapy. GO TO A DOCTOR! Get help the best way you can. I agree with Horsesense, read those articles that he sent you in his answer.
There is defiantly help for people thinking about suicide. Sadly, many times those that think about killing themselves, DO, because they don't get help. Life is too precious to be taking yours out! God gave life to us as a gift, and when we are given a gift, we treasure it with our utmost ability! But I do know where you are coming from about wanting to, I was there once too! But get help! READ READ READ READ and TALK TALK TALK TALK!!!!!!!! Then come back and let us know how your therapy went, and what your doctor done for you. I don't want to hear about you in the obituaries.
