I only know people say to breath in your nose and out your mouth. But isn't there ways to help more? How do you try to keep your heart rate down and etc.

great question!!! Breathing and rhythm are two big keys to running. One of the biggest mistakes about beginners is the fact that they don't warm up enough before finding a good pace. Start slow. Your first mile should always be your warm up. It's very difficult but you have to find your rhythm first and then the speed comes later. If you ever find yourself running out of breath then slow down and focus on rhythm. Smaller steps and a consistent pace help you find a comfortable pace. It's important to realize that you must find a comfortable pace for great runs. Don't worry about being fast. It's not a race, it's a marathon. Listening to music is a great way to find your rhythm and your breathing will come along with it. Speed and endurance comes with experience and before you know it you will be running faster and more comfortable than before. Try running outside on a trail and appreciate the scenery and take your focus off of running. Think about other things like your job, family, goals, anything except for running. Some of my best and longest runs were when I was trying to figure out a problem or what I was planning for the weekend. Everytime you get tired or feel like you can't go any longer tell yourself that you can go forever. Tell yourself yes you can. Think comfortable and you will run comfortable. Think control your breathing and you will. If you focus on saying I can't then you won't. Just keep running and the more you do it the more comfortable you will get. Good Luck and keep running for life.

The cramps typically are from no longer consuming sufficient water earlier than. Before that means the day or night time earlier than the run. Its well to get in round a gallon of water or a little extra if you'll be able to, however only some glasses of water is larger than not anything should you don’t consider like consuming a entire gallon. You may also do larger should you don’t drink an excessive amount of inside an hour earlier than the exercise and only some sips whilst wanted. Breathing in out of your nostril (you'll be able to breathe in a little from the mouth while) and out your mouth is essentially the most effective for runners. Always speed you respiring and keep secure. Depending on how a long way you're going is whilst the respiring will have an impact on you. If it’s a brief distance then out and in from the mouth might be ok. When you get into longer distances then you definately desire to throw in a respiring approach. The principal is pacing your respiring.

my track coach always used to tell me to keep a 'beat' with your breath.....in other words, breathe like a woman in labor does (2 breaths in, 2 breaths out) the faster you run, the faster the 'beats' go. this helps me focus on something other than the running, and helps to maintain a good pace without losing my breath.

okay, well i learned this from swimming. but ive tried it when i run and it helps too. try to inhale to full lung capacity at a normal rate then exhale sharply. this improved my ability to run longer and not feel as winded. of course, i run differently than most people but give it a try anyway. hopefully it works for you too.
