He sounds kind of shy. Why don't you start asking some open ended questions (non yes or no questions) like:
Do you play any sports?
Do you have any hobbies?
Are you in any clubs at school?
Whats your favorite thing to do on Friday nights?
Ask questions where he has to say more than one or two words. If you ask, say -- "Do you play any sports?" and he answers with "Soccer," start asking questions about that sport! What position do you play, how long have you been playing, what team are you on -- dive into the lifestyle and he will open up. Remember, its hard to listen, but very EASY to talk, especially about yourself. So start asking some questions!
Good luck!

As a general rule of thumb...never talk about what you don't know about. People can tell if you don't know the subject. So if you wanna talk with him, look up some things that he's interested in. Find out his courses and his major, and do some research. Get into it, that way you have a great intellectual first conversation. That's how you'll know the deal. If he's kinda like "huh?" then it ain't worth it...if he actually can talk with you, then your in. And from there, find out his other interests. That's the best thing to do.

A good starter is a raelly good question. That makes them think a little and they beome a little intrested. Don't make the question too personal though. Say something like: What r u doin later or How r u doin? OR another way is him to talk to u. U make the choice. GooD LuCK

Give him your email address. that is what me and my boyfriend did so we could stay in touch, when I lived with my mom because that was the only time I could talk to him with out her listening in and I would go to the library so she wouldn't read it. but sometimes that is a good way to talk is by sending email's then that way you can break the ice

Just be honest with him and tell him how you feel. Most guys are very foreward with things like that and find it easier to just get it over with instead of playing games.
