I'm 15 and a girl. I have this annoying little sister. She's 12 and almost 13. She has to get into everything I do. I'm really into Superman and the show Lois and Clark and she had to copy me in that. The karate school I've been in for two years she suddenly decides to join. Whenever I'm talking to my mom she runs into the room and starts shouting just to bug me. She even admits to that. I'm not a violent person and even if I beat her up it's useless. Then she just beats up my 10 year old sister. I can't talk to her because she won't listen. If it's around nine and I'm finishing my homework she'll just come in my room and refuse to leave until I do her homework for her or help her. Now, I'm always staying up late because she blasts music until midnight. My parents are divorced and my mom won't do anything because she doesn't give a damn. I don't see why she should be my responsibilty at her age. I'm desperate for help. What should I do?

I've been you.

Copycats....SUCK!!!

The only solution is to set aside time that you spend just with her doing something you enjoy. She's crying out for attention, and it you can give her some that she doesn't have to beg you for, you should start to notice that she respects your privacy and personality a lot more. Remember: You are a big sister. God made you one because he knows that you have the qualities a big sister should have, even if you don't want them. One of these days, when the two of you are older, your sisters will turn to you and say, "ya know, when our parents got divorced I didn't know how to handle it. Thank you for everything. You were the only person I could turn to. You saved me.:"

Nobody is anybody's responsibility ! You start seeing sense in life when you see the larger picture. We are all individuals struggling every moment to make 'our' lives happier (in the manner, that we deem fit, at that time)

You are emotional and good and therfore feel the urge to 'help' others including your sister. Your help is a help only when it is wanted. Therefore just concentrate on your studies, duties and happiness.

You can make the world around you beautiful, only when you are happy and are also an achiever. Just try doing these two things and ignore the rest.

Remember one day you will shall make your family proud of you !

Be flattered your sister admires you and tries to get your attention. My brother used to steal my things, tattle on me, fist fight me etc... when we were younger. I thought he was a real pain in the @$$. I used to go out of my way to avoid being around him. My brother died 2 years ago, from cancer, and there is not a day that goes by, that I wish I hadn't tried to spend more time with him. I miss the pest so much. We really loved each other so much, but we never bothered to make friends with each other until it was to late. All of these annoying things about your sister will pass in time, and you both will be happy to have each other.

It seams to me she is mimicking you from envy. She must look up to you and want to be more like you. I would be flattered if I were you. Now you have to ask yourself, are you comfortable being a role model for another person. If I were you, I would take the time to do things especially for the 2 of you. Be the role model that she thinks you are. The more time you spend with her, the less time you will have to. That is just an opinion.

Your sister is craving a role model. She looks up to you for guidance.

She's too young to really know how to be 'herself' especially if you're mother isn't involved in her life.

Help her find her own interests by participating in her life. Be kind to her and offer her some time. In exchange, set up some ground rules such as "No visits to my room or loud music after 7pm." and "If I'm talking to mom, please don't interupt."

well I do understand your frusteration but, try and be a little more tolerant of her. I think that shes looking to you as a roll model. Shes proud of you and wants to be like you. yes its annoying sometimes but smile and take it as a compliment. ;)) im sure that your 10 year ols sister will be doing the same to her soon enough if she isnt already. Its normal.

well you are lucky, she might not say it but your who she looks up to, yr cool. she wants to be like you. you sisters have to stick together, yeah she might be a pain and yeah things are up in air with yr folks being divorced but make an effort to hang out w/ her. as weird as it sounds this may curb her annoyances, all she wants is yr attention. you say you like lois and clark and superman, why not go to the comic book shop together or rent the superman movies and watch them together (i think batman is way better by the way--- wait till the superman and batman movie comes out, its in the works!!) who cares what your friends think, your sister is family and as you grow up you will see that your friends will come and go but family & (yr sisters) is what will be everlasting -- together or divorced everyone still loves each other. you are lucky to have her and she is lucky to have you. good luck.

If you say your mom doesn't give a damn, maybe she's looking for a mother's affection. You should be a better sister.

live with your dad. you need a break and time away from the annoying sister. anything else you is going to be pointless and not do you any good. so just get away from it all, and try and enjoy some quiet time without her crammed up your butt.
